From his teenage years DJing in strip clubs in East London to creating Pinky Promise —a soulful, intimate festival that blends music, cabaret, and liberated self-expression—Jared's path has been driven by a passion to create spaces where people can embrace their sensuality and sexuality without judgment, without the pressure to perform, and without being sexualized. It's about celebrating freedom, connection, and authenticity.
Today, Pinky Promise stands as a beacon of inclusivity and creativity, offering a multi-disciplinary experience where attendees can explore pleasure, love, relationships, and intimacy in ways that are as diverse and individual as they are. “You can be there for the music, enjoy the process of making a costume, take part in workshops focused on fostering deeper, more intimate connections, or simply watch the spectacle of our cabaret,” says Jared, reflecting on the ethos that drives Pinky Promise.
Rather than another kink party or sex club, Pinky Promise is a holistic, playful, and colourful space where attendees are invited to explore their own desires and expressions of sensuality, whether that means wearing sensual attire, flirting, or taking part in workshops designed to help people connect more intimately with themselves and others. At just 15, Jared began DJing at a East London strip club during the MySpace era, secretly launching his journey into radical expression and event production. Jared reflects on these early experiences that shaped his path, leading to projects like Gypsy Disco—an immersive blend of theatre, music, and non-sexualized nudity that celebrated freedom of expression.
After working in sex-positive and kink scenes within a variety of roles, Jared combined all he'd learned about sensuality and creativity to piece together his vision for Pinky Promise. To offer a unique space where people could explore their sensuality without pressure to perform or conform, fulfilling both his vision and his community's needs for authentic expression. Launched in London five years ago, Pinky Promise redefined the sensual party scene by blending art, cabaret, and playful exploration.
The panademic opened up a space for Pinky Promise to focus in on providing people with over 300 online workshops to learn and explore their sensuality and sexuality from an array of practitioners around the world. It was during this time that Jared found himself becoming the student, eagerly taking notes and evolving through what he was also learning. Once events started up again, Pinky Promise continued to create an environment where attendees could explore their sensuality and sexuality all without pressure or objectification. Most summers, Pinky Promise can be found taking over stages and running entire venues at Festivals across Europe. Each one combines artistic performances, interactive workshops, and playful games, allowing people to navigate their desires on their own terms and be inspired by the plethora of options.
In today's fast-paced, digitally-driven world, Jared believes spaces like Pinky Promise are more essential than ever. The event serves as an antidote to the disconnection many feel in their daily lives, offering a sanctuary where genuine human interaction and self-discovery are celebrated. "It's about creating space for people at different stages of their journeys, and meeting them where they are," Jared emphasizes. This feels essential in a time when more and more sex positive environments are opening up.
