Singer and producer Tilda Allie is back on our airwaves with her new single 'Rocket Me High'
Having been a guest on our podcast, Tilda Allie is back on The Sassy Show telling us all about her new song! We wanted to know more about the direction Tilda's creativity has taken her in and what goodies she is going to share next. 'Rocket Me High' is the first single from Tilda Allie's forthcoming EP 'IKIGAI'. Strings and jazzy beats create the foundation for the soundscape resembling something you may call Soulful-electronica. Forever sharing lyrics that tap into our core feelings as humans, Tilda tells us how "The narrative of the project is based on existentialism, spiritual awakening and how to navigate emotional awareness in our society today." By tapping into these topics, Tilda says how she's driven by reflecting on "the struggles to find purpose and how to find answers to questions such as “Why am I here” ”where do I fit in” and “how do I find happiness”. I explore texts by Eckhart Tolle and speak about the importance of letting go of accomplishments and how these doesn’t define our worth."

When talking about the process of bringing this project to life, Tilda explains how "this EP is a true passion project. With a zero budget, everything you see and hear is done from love and completely DIY. All music is self-produced in my bedroom cave". Having fostered agency over her own sound and craft, we hear Tilda's unique style sweep through this first release 'Rocket Me High'
The meaning behind Rocket Me High is a reflection of this constant need of wanting more and never being happy with what we have. The song tells a narrative of an individual who’s constantly running away from the present, searching for something outside of herself. Clubs, bars and parties are sanctuaries for this unawakened state of bliss. To fully forget who we are and the false pre-tens that we are letting go, when we in fact are missing the real
moments right there.

Tilda shares how she was influenced by ”Years of depression and the pandemic hit me hard. Working only to afford paying my rent in a job that made my life miserable, seeing my life's purpose slipping through my fingers." This space of difficulty is something that Tilda tells us led to her "trying to make sense of where I was fitting into society, with no other skill than making music, getting me to a place of wanting to end my life." It is this truth that Tilda courageously shares in her song, "exploring those feelings and thoughts”.
